Extremely rare, complete, two volume set. FINE condition interiors! Near fine overall, in original publishers bindings. Illustrations colored by hand. Original calf leather is still fully intact with some dark spots on spines and light wear. Interiors are as new with tight bindings and clean white pages--all plates present. Published by  D. Rice & Co of Philadelphia, 1872. Complete with 100 portraits from the Indian Gallery.

Condition Grades:
Like New or Fine
: An apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust jacket is intact, with no noticeable nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing.
Very Good or Near Fine
: Copy may have been read and may show small signs of wear. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Dust jacket may have some rubbing and chipping. Wear will be included in the listing details.
Good
: A copy that has been read, and is in the condition of an average used book. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (including dust jacket, if applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Generally, books in "Good" condition are not considered collectible grade.
Acceptable
: A readable copy showing significant wear and, for all but the rarest of books, below collector grade. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust jacket may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text.
